Old Friends

My comedian friend Jane is in town from NY and we made those sorta kinda plans, you know, the ones you can't remember? Between us we managed to figure out today was Saturday; and that only took five minutesish. Every time I talk to her she makes me laugh until my cough starts up and then I have to hang up and consult WebMD to make sure I don't have throat cancer.

Last time she was in LA we went to LACMA (Art Museum) and had lunch there.
This is from their exhibition "What The Fuck Is This?~ 2007" I'm eating peanut butter straight from the jar since I'm out of food and this picture made me hungry. If only I could remember what it was.

I DO know it's Saturday if that comes up on a pop quiz.

I'm going to the acupuncturist on Monday. A Japanese man recommended by my Vietnamese pedicurist. And really? Acupuncture is Chinese.

End of chat.

  2. Acupuncture is cool. I like to watch them jab the needled thingies in - it's like slow-motion tattooing without the art at the end!

Meanwhile, your lunch looks like some sort of cucumber salad with tomatoes and probably cilantro since that evil green nastiness has been rearing its ugly head in everything from guacamole to strawberry ice cream in the last few years. Blech (unless you like it...and then...yum?).

Oh, and cheese toast, because the art museum wants to help patrons feel connected to the common folk, and nothing helps one feel connected to their fellow man like binding food.

I thought it was Sunday for a few minutes today, until I realized I wasn't at the gallery so it couldn't be Sunday after all. As usual you are ahead of the game.

This may keep me up all night.

If that was on a menu here, it would be called "California [something or other]." I guarantee.

I love acupuncture. I hope it'll help you.

  9. It looks like the chef poured the mix straight out of a can and it retained it's shape. Tried to fancy it up with some toasted seasoned flatbread and some green shit on the side. I hope you didn't pay to much for that meal??

    Hope the acupuncture helps.

  10. It's turd-in-a-can. If you ever shopped for food anymore you'd know that.

  11. WTF is that?! We love Cilantro around here too. Hus actually considered naming T "Coriander" and then we could call him "Cory" I am really glad the OB nurse talked me out of that one!

And I thought I was the only grown woman who eats peanut butter from the jar when hungry.

I'll pass on the corn sculpture.
