  1. Good lord, I hope you were the passenger. L.A. freeways require both hands on the wheel!

  2. Driving in LA, I just can't. I live in a small town, where it's in the news if someone passes someone in the main road here. When we go to Cali/San Diego to visit the in laws, it's my husband that drives. Those freeways...bumper to bumper at 70 mph and people merge WITH NO directional on and don't even move over for the person to merge???

    I just can't....

  3. I love the Trucks OK part. We have them here, but no one ever pays the slightest bit of attention to them. I guess an 18 wheeler loaded with extra long pine logs putt putting down Main Street is considered "atmosphere."

I'm confused. What am I missing here?
I rarely drive as I live in Manhattan so this automotive humor escapes me.
I once drove a jeep up the coast from LA to Big Sur and we spent a night at the Madonna Inn and another evening at Deetjen's run by ill tempered hippies. On the way back we stopped at Anderson's Pea Soup Restaurant and as we exited my pretty blonde friend threw up in the parking lot in front of an appalled and no longer peckish family. Very Exorcist!
Now that is road trip humor I understand.
