I went to the corner store and bet the kid who works there that one more celebrity would die in the next 2 days. (That's our version of Bingo) Karl Malden died, I win. I'm pretty sure the kid has no idea who Karl Malden is.
Did anyone recognize Brooke Shields in the picture I posted with Michael Jackson this morning?

Some friends and I used to compete to see who could be the first to call the others with news of celebrity deaths. It all began with Nicolae Ceausescu and snowballed from there. Wonder what ever happened to those friends...?
Well, did you know Mollie Sugden of the BBC comedy, Are You Being Served, died today?
That on certainly made me sad. She has made me laugh for a long time, even when I watched the reruns!

Of course I recognized Brooke Sheilds. When I lived in LA,over 20years ago, I sold her and her mother clothes from the boutique I was working at. She is the most beautiful looking person I have ever met in real life.
She was also nice.

I thought Brooke broke up with MJ because he was a better woman.
Every once in a while I had the opportunity to sit at a table with Karl and join in shooting the breeze with him. Vary, very rarely he would mention this about Brando, that about Leigh or something about Lancaster. Once I asked him about Elia Kazan and the Oscar and I promptly became invisible.
Interesting, old wounds.
I never got to ask him about Wally Cox.
(I liked his family, too.)
