If you can find one home in Los Angeles that does not have a statue of the Buddha either inside or in their garden, I'll show you someone who just moved here and has not gotten with the program. We are very pro-Buddha out here. Ask us why and we'll say, "It was on sale."
This is mine, from Cambodia.

I like it. I have a green gnome.
ReplyDeleteWe have two Buddhas - a 2-foot tall black stone head in the back yard and a small seated bronze on the table in the front entry next to Ganesha. We've also got a mezuzah on the front door frame, a feng shui crystal over the front door, a crucifix in the living room, a Koran in the bedroom, prayer flags hanging from the longhorn skull in the library, and I wear an Ouroboros ring. We take no chances.
ReplyDeleteJami, you need to get a green gnome.
ReplyDeleteDon't see them here in Vegas, guess the god we worship is money.
ReplyDeleteWas yours on sale?
We had a wooden buddha, but I gave him to Goodwill when we tried to sell our house. We were already starting at a disadvantage, with no deer heads on the living room wall and no Virgin Mary in a Bathtub statues on the front lawn...
ReplyDeleteI buck the trend - I have Kuan Yins. Also, I am far away from LA, because if I ever go to California, I am convinced California will fall into the sea and it'll be all my fault. You're welcome.
ReplyDeleteShade and Sweetwater,

I have a mini budda
ReplyDeleteThis made me laugh. We have a couple Buddha's. One was given to us by our hairstylist in Chicago during one of her mental breaks.
